Thermal springs
The thermal complex, enclosed in chestnut, oak and pine woods, extends downstream from Fiuggi.
It comprises two hydrothermal facilities: the Bonifacio VIII Spring and the Anticolana Spring. The Bonifacio VIII Spring was built in the early twentieth century in an elegant Liberty style.
Nowadays, the striking portal is all that remains of the original design. In fact, in the 1960s, the internal facilities were thoroughly reorganized in open spaces and areas under roof where daring architectural elements made of concrete are set against the luxuriant vegetation.

The Bonifacio VIII spring is the site where the actual treatment takes place, meaning the morning therapy on an empty stomach. The drinking fountains, scattered by the hundreds in the broad landscaped areas and under roof, may be accessed at the same time by up to 25,000 persons.
The Anticolana spring - also called the “new spring” as it was opened in the Twenties – is most popular in the afternoons. Set in an enchanting position, it has fewer water fountains but affords guests great opportunities for wonderful walks in the gardens and along the tree-lined avenues of its extensive park with recreational facilities.

In fact, silvery cedars, sequoias and flowers of every kind conceal tennis courts, bowling greens, mini-golf courses, ping-pong tables, a playground for children and an amusement arcade. |
